Friendly service, wonderful food and coffee, and stunning views of the ocean contribute to the welcoming mood at Little Bay in Western Australia.
Marketing Manager Anneliese Hvalgaard adds, “It’s been an incredible first year.” “The beach dining style we offer has been appreciated by the locals as well as the greater Perth community.”
The café’s light and airy decor have also been a hit. The Little Bay uses woven wicker cushions and furnishings to match the white backdrop with the abundance of greenery and earthy textures.
An outdoor seating area allows customers to bring their dogs on coffee runs and brunch dates, while also attracting passers-attention.

“People enjoy going on lengthy beach walks, especially on weekends. “They’ll frequently stop by our coffee window and grab their favorite beverage while admiring what Perth is known for — our beautiful beaches,” Anneliese says.
She goes on to say that The Little Bay doesn’t rely just on its location to attract clients, and that outstanding service is what truly resonates.
“People remember how you make them feel, not just what you do for them,” adds Anneliese. “This applies to service, food, and coffee. People will not return to a café if the coffee is not enjoyable.”

The Little Bay provides single origins from Locale Coffee Roasters as well as the No143 Seasonal Blend, which the owners choose for its full-bodied caramel flavor. The Little Bay’s proprietors, Elizabeth and Mark Ahearn used Locale at their former café, Little H, and had a long-standing friendship with Locale WA State Manager Paul Solway, according to Anneliese.
“Liz and Mark wanted to sell premium coffee, and Pauly had just begun working with Locale. “It was as though the stars had aligned,” she adds.
“We are impressed by the quality of the coffee, and our consumers enjoy it. And the daily assistance with equipment, products, and promotion has been fantastic. We are looking forward to a prosperous future with Locale.”
